As an extra course during our unofficial tour of ‘365 Days of Golf’ we were invited at golfclub de Gulbergen in Mierlo/Nuenen. An amazingly good atmosphere around the beautiful club house, with a lovely terrace facing south.
The course is one of its own. The first nine holes are situated on a former dumping ground, and this made it to the highest hill of the province Noord Brabant. So you definitely have to be in good physical shape otherwise a buggy is your biggest friend. Amazing views if you reached the top. Than the course brings you to the other top. So climb again.
Special is the par 3 hole were you have to aim 150 downwards (see picture below).
Pity from the train noise that is often passing by. And the electricity wires can’t be missed either.
After these first nine holes, I was too tired after all these impressive days, to walk the back nine. They looked in good shape.
Fairways, greens and bunkers were all very well taken care of.
Finishing this day with a well-deserved drink on the huge terrace was certainly a treat.
