‘Be present’. Words of Kevin Costner, in one of the many movies that I watched here at Karens’ place, just south of Valle de Abdalajís. What a completely different WorkAway experience it was, compared to the one in Seville.
Many different jobs I did; building tables out of pallet wood, creating the rockery in the garden, painting the pillars for the studio tables and helping Karen and Allen in Photoshop with their sewing course promotion flyer.
Many thanks to them, for these lovely three weeks.
I saw Málaga, where I stayed for two days and used for the first time in my life a hostel to stay for the night. A nice experience as well, due to the fact that the owner of this new hostel took the time to have a conversation with me about the use of WorkAway personnel. ‘Casa al Sur’ can be recommended to travellers on a low budget, in the beautiful city of Málaga.
Personally I found Seville more interesting, so after these relaxing two days in the city, I was ok going back by train. Mean while I had, during my walks through town, so many ideas in my mind, that I was completely not aware that I had taken the wrong train back home.
Somewhere near the coastline with skyscrapers like buildings I realised I was on the wrong track. Torremolinos was mentioned on the signs and I knew I was not going inland.
Keep on smiling, little mistakes happen and with the help of the friendly staff of the railway company, and some two hours waiting, I got back to Álora.
Since I’m here I start my days doing a meditation session. For those who know me closely, they have an idea from whom this comes. For those who don’t, check out this link. I’m wondering if this is the reason that my whole plans are once again upside down. Being here in Andalusia to figure out if I would like to stay here and than in the mean while creating a ‘work’ opportunity in Greece.
Yes, you read it correctly; Ellada, HELLAS, Greece!!
The Peloponnesus (not Peleponessos) is waiting for me. Sjoerd has bought some houses as an investment and can use some help by renovating them. He asked me about the WorkAway formula and one thing lead to another. So from February on, I will mainly have a paint brush in my hand an re-decorate the houses just outside the picturesque village of Giálova.
For the golf players among you, the village is better known as Costa Navarino.
YES, CORRECTLY !!! THE place in Greece where they invested millions of Euros, despite the crises to build two 18 holes golf courses and some luxury resorts. Besides that it’s an amazing area with really beautiful nature and astonishing history.
So I am looking forward to fly to Kalamata and let my intuition tell me if this is the place to be.
The annual golf membership is payable and the future looks good, because they started to build the third golf course, in the project that finally has to result in four courses and seven resorts.
Well, leaves me a gap of some months.
So there for I decided to go (back) to Zell am See, to work there as a ski instructor during the Christmas weeks. My bus tickets are booked, so off I go, helping out at Truschners’ ski school and seeing all these familiar faces: Katzy in the cellar bar, San still as a rep, Sani and Anita in other work areas and of course all the colleagues at Crazy Daisy who are enjoying their celebration year… 30 years the best bar in town.
Still having one month of unemployment. WHAT TO DO IN JANUARY???
Coming back on the second of January I have to wait patiently to see the calendar pages get to the first of February.
So in January I’m available for your domestic project. As I don’t have a car at the moment I’ll come to you with public transportation and finish this long lasting job that you want to have finished.
Painting your walls, fixing your cupboards, making your website rank higher or even ironing your shirts. Because we know each other I don’t ask a fix price, but you pay me what you find it worth at the end of my stay. Of course you keep in mind the cost for my meals and the bed I sleep in.
Well, you see…… being present is once again a bit difficult for me, but I do my best. Granada is waiting for me, where I will help Emilia with her internet appearance of her studios in the centre of town.
Probably I’ll have time there as well to continue….
– finding more information for the ABC page of the region of Messenia in the Peloponnesus.
– answering the golf related questions of my Facebook friends.
– integrating my videos in my new Wicked Golfers YouTube channel.
– improving my most visited page, so my Bounce percentage is going down by another 10%.
– studying all these instruction videos, so my theory knowledge basis is well educated.
– ANSWERING YOUR REMARKS, QUESTIONS OR WORK PROPOSALS 😉
Keep you posted out of Granada, or maybe out of the Transavia plane back to Eindhoven.
Gia sas, or still Hasta Luego.
